I re-enabled the option to approve all new sign ups cause even though I have recaptcha, spammers are still getting into the site, and spamming, so all new users are supposed to go through the approval process, however I am not sure if that applies to Facebook sign ups. If so, message me on facebook, Joseph Slabaugh, and I can approve you.
You can now use your Facebook to sign into EX-Amish Forum Version 3.0! Note that you should include something about Amish in your application, as I got so many spammers that have weird messages as their bot created applications that I have to weed through to find the legitimate ones. However, I have found that also if you sign up via Facebook, then I have no such issue.
Tell Your Story

Hi, my name is Liz Mannebach and I'm a Chicago-based journalist working on a project about the ex-Amish. I'm hoping to interview former Amish about your own experience and some of the challenges you face in today's world. I'm interested not just in your decision to leave the Amish community, but what your day-to-day life is like now. What makes you smile? What are your hopes for your future? Your career?

Your real name will not be used, and the piece will not be published for at least another year.

If you'd like to tell your story or if you have any questions, you can leave a post here or send me an email at mmannebach@luc.edu. Ideally, I'd like to arrange to talk over the phone, but online is fine, too.

I really appreciate your help with the project and I'm looking forward to hearing your story.

Hi Lee. I'm very sorry for the abuse you and your family have suffered. I'm not Amish, but I'm a Christian and I don't think Christians should be hurting each other. I will pray for you and your family. God bless you.

My name is Deborah, and the initials I use for my screen name are (My Boss Is A Jewish Carpenter)  I am a Christian but not a member of sleeping Churches, or Ladicean like Church. I pray twice a day I repent.  I have never been Amish, but would like to know more about the biblical teachings. Does every Amish man abuse women?  I have a lot of questions, like would an Amish community allow me to be taught the bible by an Amish person if I respectful of the Amish traditions of dressing modesty? I do read my bible often but sometimes have questions. I think Knowing an Amish or an ex Amish person might be able to help me with learn my bible better.  I am on facebook  my personal e-mail is  myguybones@yahoo.com. If anyone would be interested in being my friend I'm here.

@leemast I have never written a book but I am very well written, well spoken, and fairly educated. I would be happy to help in any way I can. I am a soon to be homeschool teacher and am supporting my husband while he works to obtain a degree in writing. I believe we can help if you would like.
