I re-enabled the option to approve all new sign ups cause even though I have recaptcha, spammers are still getting into the site, and spamming, so all new users are supposed to go through the approval process, however I am not sure if that applies to Facebook sign ups. If so, message me on facebook, Joseph Slabaugh, and I can approve you.
You can now use your Facebook to sign into EX-Amish Forum Version 3.0! Note that you should include something about Amish in your application, as I got so many spammers that have weird messages as their bot created applications that I have to weed through to find the legitimate ones. However, I have found that also if you sign up via Facebook, then I have no such issue.
Hi. I have a doubt about it. Let's suppose a teen left her house at age 16 for the rumspringa period. Now, she comes back to visit her family at age 21 - but she does not still want to join the Amish. Can she does that? just to visit her family from time to time? or as soon as she comes back she has to join the church?
Well I would think that depends on the family/community, but I talk to my family from time to time witout joining the church to do so (I we never a member, so that is why I was never shunned in the first place.
Hey, I'm Rosie Louwe Kooijmans, a 17-years-old girl form Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I'm working on a project about Amish and the Rumspinga. I'm really want to know what Amish do in their Rumspringa and why they are going back to their community after the Rumspringa. I really appreciate if someone help me out. My email is rosielk@live.nl.
Amish who left after rumspringa are still allowed to keep close contact with their family. They are not prohibited to communicate nor join them at some point in their community. Most of those who choose to runaway after the season of being wild is up continue their training which started before rumspringa. Those who choose to stay in the amish community will be baptized and most often are being prepared for marriage.
